THE PERFECT EARRINGS FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE

Explore earring styles that show off who you are. There’s no accessory more flattering than confidence, so no matter what earrings you choose, wear them with pride.

EARRINGS THAT BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOU

Unlike other types of jewelry, wearing earrings requires going through the piercing process. Some might call that a commitment! Once your piercings are fully healed, it’s time for the fun part—to start exploring earring styles.

Whether you’re looking for an everyday style, a new pair to add to your stack or want to try something new for a change, try exploring designs according to face shape and branching out from there. If you’re not sure what your face shape is, try experimenting with different styles with the following tips in mind.

EARRINGS FOR A ROUND FACE

A round face shape means the width of your face at your cheekbones, and the length of your face from forehead to chin is roughly the same. You’ll also have a softer jawline with a rounded chin.

One of the most flattering styles of earrings for round faces is drop or dangling earrings. The longer, slender silhouettes balance your round features and give your look more balance and symmetry.

EARRINGS FOR A SQUARE FACE

A square-shaped face comes with strong angles and an equal (or close to equal) forehead and jawline width. To soften angular features, opt for round accessories like hoop earrings. The size, metal, and details are up to you, but the larger the hoop, the more it will soften your angular jawline and sharp features.

There are plenty of hoop styles to experiment with, including subtle huggie hoops, large, statement-making hoops and hoops adorned with gemstones. The only thing to keep constant is the round structure to balance and flatter a strong jawline.

EARRINGS FOR A HEART-SHAPED FACE

A heart-shaped face usually includes a forehead wider than the cheekbones and a more tapered jawline and pointed chin. Your cheekbones are probably your most striking feature, so choosing earrings that flatter them is key. To balance the sharp chin and wider forehead, choose earring shapes that are wider at the bottom, like threader, chandelier, or teardrop styles. Larger hoops can also help to balance out the smaller bottom half of your face.

EARRINGS FOR AN OVAL FACE

An oval-shaped face with wide cheekbones and a soft jaw is the most versatile when it comes to earring styles. Studs, hoops, or small drop earrings can all look great. Try to avoid long, thin dangle and drop earrings because they might make your face appear elongated, but if you love the dangling earring style, look for features like tassels or beads to fill out the silhouette and flatter your face a bit more.
